Benvarden Stud

Site Updated 26/12/2008

Benvarden Stud began in 1990 with both Miniature Horses and Braford Cattle. As numbers increased we moved to our present 800 acre property between Ipswich and Boonah in Queensland.

The goals for both cattle and horses remain the same as we grow. By improving the quality of sires and dams, and precise recording of our progress, we are confident we are moving closer to the types of horses and cattle we want to breed.

Our 2 bulls are Sunnylawn Overlander and Carinya Index. These bulls were purchased in 2006 and 2007 at the annual Braford Society Sale in Rockhampton. Our first drop of Overlander calves arrived this Spring and we are eagerly awaiting our first Index progeny in Spring 2008.

Ratara's High Roller (32" palomino) and Flying Dust Sirocco (33.75" black appaloosa) are our resident stallions. Although different, both are leggy horse types, and both leave their mark on their progeny. With a selection of coloured mares, the foals are a variety of colours (solid, dilute and spotted) and conformation is getting better and better.
